Outdoor Fitness with Brita Fill & Go Active*

Back in January, I posted about my 21-day challenge to build a sustainable fitness habit, which I collaborated with Virgin Active to achieve. I’m pleased to say that since then, I’ve managed to keep my fitness up and I’ve done this through mixing up my types of workout and workout space.

Recently, I’ve been training at the newly opened HIIT fitness studio, GymClass London, founded by Helle Hammond and her daughter Suzie. The studio is based in Shoreditch and each of its 133 weekly classes targets different areas of the body.

Last weekend, I swapped the hustle and bustle of London for the goodness of Kent to join PTs Lawrence Price and Louis Brown for the first ever Phi Club Retreats, which was the perfect opportunity to put Brita’s new Fill and Go Active bottle to the test.

On arrival, I was greeted by the most incredible house set on the Eridge, Kent estate. The fire was burning away and although only 45 minutes away from London I already felt transported to a place of comfort and serenity. I met Lawence and Louis and was shown to my room, which had a goodie bag of healthy snacks waiting for me on the bed, alongside the itinerary for the weekend.

One by one, the other 13 guests started to arrive. It was a really nice mix of Lawence and Louis clients, a few fitness brand PRs and locals. After a meet and great, we kicked the weekend off with a lengthening pilates session in the private studio, before tucking into a dinner of beef and green pea mash, before enjoying a herbal tea and heading to bed to get an early night.

Saturday began with the sun shining through the attic room where I was staying. I headed downstairs to the smell of fresh eggs, which were accompanied by avocado and feta, alongside a selection of granola, yoghurt and fresh fruit.

After fueling ourselves for the day ahead, I filled up my Brita Fill and Go Active bottle and we headed outdoors to the large garden area, with incredible views of the countryside, for small group coaching. We were split into two groups for this and I was with Louis, whose background is in callisthenics. Louis took us through various stretches as well as the fundamentals of movement which were going to be used over the course of the weekend throughout the session.

Following group coaching, we had a small break before getting stuck in a 14 station group conditioning class. This is where the hard work began! We did three rounds of exercises including kettlebell swings, squat-presses, push-up elbow touches and skipping.

After working up a sweat, we tucked into a healthy salmon and salad lunch to set us on our way for the impending 9K cross-country run.

We ran around the estate and took in beautiful lakes, greenery and woodland in the scorching heat. I’m no runner, but I managed to stay up front and kept myself hydrated throughout with my Brita Fill and Go Active bottle. The cap design was perfect for taking quick sips and handle offered enough grip to not slip out my hand when running at speed.

Post-run we headed into our second pilates class of the weekend before enjoying a well-deserved dinner of chicken and butternut squash mash (as well as a small glass of red wine to congratulate us on the day’s efforts).

I work up on Sunday feeling stretched and toned, after another wholesome breakfast, I grabbed my Brita Fill & Go Active bottle and heading into the glorious sun for another session of group conditioning, this time with 15 stations!

We were giving the rest of the morning to explore the estate or go for a massage. I went for a quick leg massage and found a nice spot to unwind in before the final lunch, which was lamb roast. I jumped on a train back to London feeling healthier, stronger and full of life.

The BRITA Fill&Go Active Bottle is the perfect way to keep you hydrated throughout the day, and  helps to reduce on waste from single-use plastic bottles.
